Description

Bam Bam Boo is a dim sum, dumpling and noodle restaurant located within the 140 William precinct in Perth CBD. Inspired by Chinese food culture and the venue’s quick, affordable and freshly prepared dishes, we designed the restaurant's interior and façade, leaning into the simplicity and casual social dining experience of traditional Chinese dumpling houses.

Contemporary interpretations of the rich history of China, including bamboo and shingles, rice bags, roof tiling and a sculptural bamboo lighting feature, were combined with displays of hanging roast duck, soy sauces, steaming baskets and Oolong tea to create an immersive, playful and engaging atmosphere for diners. Ample indoor and alfresco-style seating, together with a streamlined service counter caters to efficient self-service ordering during peak periods.

Bam Bam Boo was recognised with a Commendation in the Lighting Solution category at the 2015 Design Institute of Australia (DIA) WA Awards.
