A medi-legal group (Beam Medicolegal) wanted to breathe new life into a heritage building in West Perth, creating a space that could extend excellent service, access and amenity to their clients while providing an antidote to the clinical feel of a typical doctor’s office.

Our design approach involved creating open, generous, modern rooms that harness natural light, inviting a sense of peace, calm and clarity while preserving privacy.

Original heritage details and character features such as timber floorboards, fireplaces, arched doorways, cornicing and bookcases were retained. The harmony of charming space and professional practice was balanced with a clean and minimal colour palette of whites, creams and blacks. Other contemporary design elements include custom freestanding desks, New Works pendant lights and Mattiazzi timber armchairs, bespoke finishes to medical beds and textural drapery.

Cordial and inviting, the quietly sophisticated interior demonstrates how a fit-for-purpose medical consultancy can also visually and spatially support wellbeing.
