Description

Parley Bar is a hidden wine bar located in the quiet and leafy suburb of Mount Pleasant. Inspired by the venue’s name, where ‘parley’ means a peaceful discussion or a conference in the midst of war or conflict, our design approach centred around evocation, creating a sense of calm and respite. Guests enter through an unassuming façade that unfolds into a deep, rich and sultry interior.

We translated this idea through an inward-focused floor plan, ambient lighting, heavy drapery, plush fabrics and a jewel-toned colour palette of sapphire, emerald, garnet and citrine. Custom-designed pendant lights with a moiré finish hang overhead, while hand-blown glass sconces frame a classical-style bar with a quartzite stone top and custom foot rail, anchoring the space and showcasing the venue’s quality drinks, hospitality and service. Sweeping banquettes and clusters of seating provide an intimate dining experience for guests.
