Boston Brewing Co. is one of the early breweries in the Great Southern Region and has been a strong part of WA’s craft brewery scene since 2011. In 2019, it opened its doors in the inner-east suburb of Victoria Park, welcoming locals and craft beer enthusiasts to its new urban venue.

Located at the bottom of a multi-purpose development that was not originally designed for an extensive hospitality site, our scope involved both architecture and interiors to create a warm and inviting space for casual catch-ups, informal dining and large functions, while staying true to the heart and soul of Boston Brewing Co.’s iconic Denmark venue.

Inspired by social connection and great Australian pubs, our design response centred around the bar. A stairwell and fireplace connect the drinking and dining areas, while an oversized folding door promotes flow and function, creating an indoor–outdoor openness. A colour palette of creams, navy and deep reds pays homage to heritage venues and the Victoria Park locale.
